About Us
What is Lucky Dux?
Lucky Dux is a teacher-designed school readiness program that helps children build the confidence, independence, and skills they need before starting school. Sessions are held in my warm home classroom in Carnegie, with a maximum of just 4 children per group, ensuring every child is truly known, supported, and encouraged to learn at their own pace.
Lucky Dux is about more than preparing children for Prep—we support parents too. Through personalised feedback, practical strategies, and ongoing communication, you'll always know how your child is progressing along their Pathway to Prep.
Hi I’m Natalie…
The founder of Lucky Dux. I've been working in education settings since 2013, and I've been a VIT-registered primary school teacher since 2017. Over that time I've taught across Victorian primary schools and delivered targeted intervention programs in Queensland, working with children from Prep through to Year 6.
A big part of my career has been working with children with a diverse range of needs, which gave me a deep understanding of executive functioning, emotional regulation, and the very specific things that make starting school feel hard for many children. I've seen firsthand what a confident, prepared child looks like, and I've seen what happens when the foundations aren't quite there yet. That experience is built into everything Lucky Dux does.
As a teacher…
I kept seeing the same patterns. Children starting school without the independence, confidence, or emotional readiness they needed to thrive. Parents who desperately wanted to help but weren't sure what to do or where to start. Classrooms where teachers simply didn't have the time to fill those gaps individually.
As a mum…
I understand the other side of that experience too. The hope you carry for your child. The quiet worry that they might struggle. The wish that someone could just tell you what to do to help them.
Lucky Dux exists for both of those people, the child who needs a gentle, structured space to build their confidence, and the parent who needs support knowing how to help at home. Every child who comes to Lucky Dux is treated as an individual. Sessions are small, calm, and structured, designed to feel safe and achievable so children build genuine confidence rather than just going through the motions.
